- I have hacked the NeXt Windows INIT, so that it works correctly under
- system 7. It turned out that there was some new window type(s) intro-
- duced in system 7, so some more case switches had to be added... It
- also fixes the problems (in some windows) with HyperCard 2.x and
- MacWrite II. I also added some new close and zoom icons. Unfortunately,
- these are only B&W bitmaps, and sometimes the old (drawn) icons come
- back on color screens. This is only a cosmetic problem, however. I
- have used the hacked INIT on my SE/30, my PowerBook 100, and a IIci at
- work with no problems (using system S-7.0) for 9 or 10 months. Under
- low memory conditions, the system sometimes will revert to the WDEF in
- ROM, but it does not seem to cause any harm.
-
- This Compact Pro archive includes source code in Think C. There is
- also code for a small application (Tester) that can be used to test any
- changes in the source code before you try to install it in your system.
- If anyone cares to add color bitmaps, it would be great...
-
- I don't remember where I got it from in the first place, but the original
- authors are credited in the source.
